Fall Ball EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

We’ve also opened up a “DROP-IN” opportunity for those not able to fully commit but want to stay engaged for the Fall.

Hi Everybody and “Thank You” for your patience while we work through what has been a challenging task compiling interest and matching that with what the original goal was.“Giving ALL INTERESTED PLAYERS at least 5-6 more weeks of MEANINGFUL baseball in hopefully great weather like this past week”. (But as the weather turns, I’m sure we’ll all be thankful being on the AT Field”

IF you’ve already registered your preferences there earlier, read my NOTES below, brought yourself up to speed on what Just Play Ball is all about and STILL want to proceed with this effort, go ahead and register at Baseball BC’s Just Play Ball page so we can get an OFFICIAL COUNT OF HOW MANY ARE IN FOR SURE NOW!

If not being able to garner enough players (as was hoped for) to form a 4 team league, we’ll go back to our core foundation of finding ways to “JUST PLAY BALL”. Corny for sure. But it’s worked for over 100 plus years all over the world and for us here in Richmond for over 10.

NOTES:

• APPROX 46 PLAYERS FROM BIRTH YEARS 2013 (2); 2014/2015 (14); 2016/2017 (14) UNKNOWN (7) have indicated initial interest since the posting 18 days ago.

• The challenges we’ve had to get back to you are final park nights available(Soccer got moved to another park on Friday), others starting up Fall Ball here in Rmd that we didn’t know of back on August 7th. That’s on top of trying to figure out T-Shirts and/or hats that need to be ordered now that we know that we’ll do something even if just a dozen kids.….

In understanding that this year 5TOOL BASEBALL will have more interested players than park and Instructor capacity will allow, The Dugout Club shared that they’d be willing to look at providing an opportunity to those players that were not chosen at this time.

While just an idea for now - depending on the number of interested participants, park availability that matches participants needs, etc - we’d be interested to find out if there’s enough players to warrant looking further into this. (48 players or so even if needing to go to those born in slightly different years than 5Tool has if need be..(i.e. 2014, 2015, 2016 Birth Years with exceptions based on size and ability at both ends of that?)

Program would follow along similar costs, provisions, etc as provided by 5TOOL’s programs except would take place on either Monday, Friday, Saturday or Sundays at Richmond’s Brighouse Park which has lights. Another difference would be is TDC has a bit more hand’s on approach for Parent Coaches / Leaders giving them an opportunity to further understand and engage in the GREAT game their children have chosen as one of their outdoor activities.
